Leadership helps embed our values

That leaders across all layers of our organisation integrate the values into decision-making processes, our culture and their own behaviour. This includes at middle management (eg NUMs, Team Leaders), senior (eg Directors), executive, & Board. It also includes people in front-line/service delivery roles i.e. even though they may not be a 'formal' leader, there is still a facet of 'leadership' to their role. This can be demonstrated through ensuring that our orgnisational values are reflected in the decisions they make and in their own behaviour.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because all layers of leadership impact on the overall culture and performance of our organisation.

Agree - we are all leaders irrespective of the level of our role!

Interesting that the new Qld Gov leadership competencies don't explicitly mention the integration of values in decision making, although it does mention ethical decisions and sense of purpose - maybe that's enough and values doesn't' need to be referred to explicitly? Personally I would like to have seen the word "values" included.
